• Promoting good health by providing well balanced, nutritious meals
• Fulfilling the social needs by bringing people together in groups
• Eliminating the loneliness often associated with eating alone
• Striving to create an atmosphere of wellness
• Promoting independence by encouraging participants to become involved in the program as a volunteer (I.e. planning meals, setting tables, preparing meals, clean up)
• Served 243,964 meals in 1999
