WESTLANDS at ODDY
Coming soon........A 16 two bedroom suite and 20 one bedroom suite facility for independent living . Each suite contains well sized bedroom (s), storage room , open living and dining area , and a convenient kitchen with major appliances . As well there is a very large bathroom able to accomodate a wheelchair and a one piece shower with full safety features . This two storey contemporary design includes a large multi-purpose room with TV lounge and tables for social gatherings . This project is sponsored and driven by the local community and suites are going fast . Rents are estimated to be $625 a month for 1 bedroom and $845 a month for 2 bedrooms . Rent includes heat , electricity , sewer , water , building , and suite maintenance , appliance repairs , admin and management . Rent supplement is available for those eligible . Cab Clubs
An exciting program offered through the K.I.N.R.C. Find 2 or 3 other people who want to share taxi rides with you and register your group as a "cab club". Go where you want, when you want! Taxi vouchers available to registered groups to help you get started. Call 774-3085 for details.

"Wheels to Meals" Program
A pilot project providing transportation assistance to community seniors to participate in the Congregate Meal Programs at Bluebird Lodge, 97 Keewatin Street and at Willow Centre, 61 Tyndall Avenue. Call the Council office for more information.

It's that time of the year again..... winter and that means snow !!!!
All over the city "snow angels"are helping neighbours keep thier sidewalks clear of snow . This winter why not "earn your wings" and make a difference in your community . Want to be a snow angel ?  Know of a snow angel ?

The Snow Angels program was initiated by the City of Calgary and introduced to Winnipeg by Charleswood Seniors Centre . This winter , Seven Oaks Senior Links , Keewatin/Inkster Neighbourhood Resource Council for Seniors , & Brooklands Pioneer Senior Centre want to make it happen in Inkster and Seven Oaks .  If you are a senior who needs help with clearing snow , register your name with us and we will try to find you a 'Snow Angel"
