Mission of the Winnipeg River Senior Service Inc.
“The purpose of the Winnipeg River Senior Service Inc. shall be to assist seniors and disabled persons of Pine Falls, Powerview, Silver Falls, Broadlands/Chevrefils District, Whitemud/Leisure Falls, St. Georges, Stead and Great Falls to continue living independently and with dignity at home as long as possible; to identify continually the needs of such persons and attempt to see that any identified shortfalls in resources and services are remedied.”

Home Maintanence
Help with caring for your home, either inside or out.

Foot Care
Professional Staff come to your home to provide basic footcare.

Transportation
We offer handivan services or paid volunteers to drive you to appointments, shopping, etc. The handivan can accommodate up to 10 passengers and the cost may be shared. The handivan must be booked in advance to insure availability, 367-9128.

Victoria Lifeline
When others can’t be with you or your loved one, Victoria Lifeline is...24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A one time installation charge and a low monthly fee puts assistance just a push of a button away.

Friendly Visiting
Volunteers spend time with individuals who are lonely and isolated.

Support Information
The Resource Coordinator is available for Home Visits to discuss concerns a client may be having. If we can’t help, perhaps we can find out who can.

Medical Equipment Loans
Loan Service provides wheelchairs, walkers, and canes for up to three months for a nominal fee.

Emergency Response Information Kits (E.R.l.K.)
This comprehensive kit contains pertinent information in case of an emergency.

Health and Wellness Events
Events are provided on issues pertinent to Seniors’ needs.

Referrals
Are made to other community service organizations as required.

Requests for Information
Are welcome any time. Hand-outs are available on many health related issues.

New Volunteers
Are always welcome! Please call the office for further information.

St. Georges Meal Program
Provides nutritionally balanced home cooked meals as well as an opportunity for social interaction. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For more information call 367-9128 or 367-8808.

Services to Seniors Programs
Are available throughout the Province of Manitoba. These community based programs are designed to assist seniors or those physically challenged to maintain their independent living status. Services are provided by dedicated volunteers or fee-for-service workers and Service to Seniors staff. All programs and services are provided with confidentiality keeping the individual’s needs in mind.
