Who We Are
  • S.A.I.L is a program designed to provide assistance to Seniors in Oak Lake, Virden, ElkHorn and area.
  • We provide help to enable people to remain independent in their homes for as long as possible.
  • Some services are provided by fee-for-services workers at a reasonable rate, while other services are provided by volunteers.

S.A.I.L is a non profit organization, directed by a volunteer board.
Partial funding is provided by the province of Manitoba in conjunction with local finanical assistance from donor’s choice, private donations, etc..
Bequests, wills and client donations are welcome. Tax receipts are available.


What Does S.A.I.L Do?


Transportation & Escorting
  • Volunteers can provide transportation or accompaniment to appointments, shopping, meals, etc. Cost Oak Lake-Virden $12.00 and Oak Lake - Brandon $23.00.
  • Handi-Van service in Oak Lake can be booked through the S.A.I.L office at 855-3150 for appoinments that relate to Seniors. There is a set price with the Handi- Van service.


Meals on Wheels
Meals can be delivered from the Golden Embers Restaurant. Call 855-3150 to arrange.

Housecleaning
We have capable, trustworthy women who are willing to assist you with your cleaning and laundry needs. Cost $13.00 per hour.

Friendly Visiting
Volunteers can spend time with shut-ins.

Foot Care
Proper foot care is very important. Trained personnel provide Foot Care Clinics. Call your S.A.I.L office for times and location.

Emergency Response Information Kit (ERIK)
Fill out and put it on your fridge.  ERIK provides the necessary information for emergency personal to respond quickly to your situation. Go
