Age-Friendly and the Town of Rossburn
Age-Friendly Manitoba and the Town of Rossburn supports seniors in leading active, socially engaged, independent lives that contribute to healthy aging. An Age-Friendly community:

• Recognizes the diversity among older Manitobans
• Encourages healthy, active aging
• Supports the contributions of older Manitobans
• Promotes the participation of older Manitobans in all aspects of our community
• Engages stakeholders in building age-friendly communities
• Creates accessible, safe environments for older adults
• Treats people of all ages with respect

Community Age-Friendly Priorities in Rossburn
In May of 2009, 22 individuals from the Town of Rossburn, Manitoba came together to talk about age-friendly priorities and issues within their community. Participants also had the opportunity to complete a survey of the age-friendliness of their community. The following is a summary of the agefriendly priorities identified at the meeting, as well as a summary of results from the survey.

They are in the process of getting the Town to get handicap parking signs as a small start to bigger and hopefully better things to come.
