“Assisting seniors to live independently”
The Services to Seniors Programs are designed to assist seniors to maintain their independent living status.
THE GOALS OF THE PROGRAMS- to develop needed resources for seniors using community volunteers
- to assist and expand the existing volunteer programs which provide services in the community
Services to Seniors are not care services. They are services directed towards tasks we take for granted: Shopping, transportation, home and yard assistance, equipment rental, meals, and much more.

- Snow removal
- Grass cutting
- Congregate meal programs
- Footcare
- Visitor/Telechek/House checks
- Information/Referral
- Emergency Response System (Lifeline)
- Respite/Companion care
- Hearing Aid Service (Available at Friendship Centre)
- Transportation to appts.
HOME AND YARD MAINTENANCE Regular cleaning rate is $12.00/hr, Spring/heavy cleaning is $15.00/hr, Minimum 1hr.Yard care, snow removal is $15-25/hr.
DRIVER/ESCORT SERVICEThis service provides personal transportation for seniors to and from medical appointments/treatments, etc., locally and to Winnipeg. The seniors are required to pay parking costs and a reasonable user fee for expenses incurred. This cost can be reclaimed on income taxes where applicable.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM (LIFELINE)This home emergency system links you to help at the push of a button, 24 hrs. a day. Anyone can benefit from it-the elderly, the disabled, and individuals recovering from surgery/illness. All will feel a sense of security and independence with it. A monthly fee is charged.
EQUIPMENT RENTALThis service available to all that require the temporary use of walkers, wheelchairs, bath stools, over the toilet rails, toilet risers, etc. due to surgery/illness.3 –6 month. A user fee is charged.
FOOTCAREA trained professional provides foot care in the senior’s home for a reasonable fee.
CONGREGATE MEAL PROGRAM Hot, nutritious, full course meals offered to all seniors .The meals are prepared at noon now served at three locations; the Friendship Centre, Legion House #2 and at Oak West Estates. Please call for further information as some restrictions apply. The cost of all meals $6.00/each. Reservations to be made one day in advance. Gift meal tickets available.
