House CleaningThis service is offered to seniors that are unable to do extensive cleaning in their own homes or apartments. Some of the cleaning offered:Washing- Walls
- Windows
- Floors, etc.
All at reasonable rates!
Yard MaintenanceThis service is from Spring to Fall for seniors wishing to have yard work done at a reasonable price. In the Winter months, snow removal can be arranged.
TransportationThis service is provided by volunteers. There is a small charge for local transportation. If the senior needs transportation to the city, then he/she will be asked to cover the cost of the gas and mileage.
Handi HelperThis service is available year round to help seniors find people who can provide home and yard maintenance/repairs at a reasonable cost.
Tele/CheckA daily phone check is done by a volunteer. Hopefully, this will reduce the number of times people are ill or injured in their own dwellings with no one being aware of it.
Shopping EscortA volunteer will escort a senior on a shopping trip. A senior may be unable to perform some of the tasks that we take for granted, such as carrying parcels or driving to the store.
Friendly VisitorEach senior is matched with a friendly visitor volunteer who donates one or two hours of their time per week to share hobbies or just talk about every day affairs.
Lifeline (Home Emergency Response System)This service is for seniors who live alone or who have a potentially disabling medical condition. It allows them to live independently in their own home.

Congregate MealThis program lets seniors enjoy a home cooked noon meal up to five times a week (Monday thru Friday). It gives people a chance to assist in food preparation, cleanup and time for socialization. Available in Winnipeg Beach and Gimli.
Gimli Meals on WheelsTogether with organizations and volunteers, Meals on Wheels will help the elderly and the disabled remain in their own surroundings, as well as provide good nutritional meals. These meals are provided in Gimli on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and are delivered at 4:00 pm from New Haven Lodge.
Winnipeg Beach Meals onWheels Meals are provided three days per week: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Meals are delivered at 11:30 am by volunteers from the Winnipeg Beach Lake Lodge. Prices subject to change.

Summary of Survey Findings - GimliAs part of the Age-Friendly Awareness Day held in Gimli on October 9, 2008, individuals
were asked to complete a brief questionnaire designed to collect information on the agefriendliness
of their community. A total of 26 questionnaires were completed; 20 individuals
identified Gimli as their community of residence. This report summarizes the findings from the
20 Gimli residents who completed the Age-Friendly Communities Survey; 85% identified
themselves as a senior.
Housing in Gimli SurveyAs part of an Age-Friendly workshop held in Gimli on October 9, 2008, individuals were
asked to complete a brief survey designed to collect information on housing in Gimli. This report
summarizes the findings from the 21 individuals who completed the Housing in Gimli Survey.
Summary of Survey Findings - Gimli Flu ClinicAs part of a flu clinic held in Gimli, individuals were asked to complete a brief
questionnaire designed to collect information on the age-friendliness of their community. A total
of 57 questionnaires were completed; 42 individuals identified Gimli as their community of
residence. This report summarizes the findings from the 42 Gimli residents who completed the
Age-Friendly Communities Survey; 90% identified themselves as a senior.
Age-Friendly Projects Update- Gimli AF Sign developed
- The RM is also distributing the Business Check List Pamphlet for any new businesses that open.
- A group of business people are working together to form The Business Chamber.
- Have developed an Annual Business Award, to be awarded to AF businesses. They have a draft ready for the ballot, letter to be sent to the business, working poster, certificates of honourable mention and they will be having a Crystal with the Age Friendly Logo that will be passed from the previous winner of the award to the current.
- Have developed a power point presentation featuring the concept of age friendly and how it evolved in their community and what they are working on now.
- Held their first annual business breakfast award on Thursday, October 8, 2009.
