OFFICE HOURS: 8:30 A.M. - 4 P.M. MONDAY TO FRIDAY
THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE FOR SENIORS WHO WANT TO LIVE MORE INDEPENDENTLY.
Services offered LIFELINE: Peronal Response System. All will feel an added sense of security and independence with it. A monthly fee is charged.
E.R.I.C.: An Emergency Response Information Kit. Please call 424-5575 and ask for Juliette if you do not already have yours.
TRANSPORTATION SERVICE: For seniors, to and from medical appointments/treatments, etc.– locally and to Winnipeg.
FOOT CARE: Offered at the Centre de Santé in La Broquerie as well as in-home service for those who are in need.
HOME AND YARD MAINTENANCE: Fee for service workers are available to assist with these chores.
SHOPPING TRIPS: - To Winnipeg's St-Vital Mall every first Thursday of the month, leaving at 10 a.m., return home at 3 p.m., $15 service fee.
- To Steinbach's Clearspring Mall every last Thursday of the month, leaving at 10 a.m. return home at 1 p.m., $10.00 service fee.
EXERCISE PROGRAM FOR SENIORS: La Broquerie, St. Anne and Richer
MOBILITY EQUIPMENT: Are you in need of mobility equipment? Have you fallen? Have you had surgery and need some kind of mobility equipment to help you out for awhile? Seine River Services for Seniors can help out. Mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes and bath chairs are available for a maximum of up to three months on the recommendation of a medical professional. A fee for service is required.
FRIENDLY VISITING PROGRAM: Friendly volunteers donate one or two hours per week for regular visits to seniors.
TELECHECK: A daily phone call is made to seniors at a pre-arranged time to make sure that everything is okay.
TWO NEW SERVICES OFFERED:
INCOME TAX: Income tax services will be offered free to those with an income no more than $15,000 a year.
HAIR CARE: A qualified hairdresser will be available afternoons and evernings with the convinience of in-home sercvice.
ACTIVITIES OFFERED: Computer courses, Cribbage games, Exercise classes, Painting classes, Tai Chi Classes (free), Curling and Wii games.
Volunteers Needed Make a difference in your community by your volunteering efforts and by adding personal value to a senior`s life. Some of the services needed are: yard maintenance, shoveling snow, errands, friendly visiting and transportation, among others. Some services will be paid for. Volunteers are not paid, not because they are worthless but because they are priceless.
